Thus it seems clear that this country is poor in water resources. and Faces natural disaster every year in the case of a seasonal lack of rain or delay.
Based on these facts - we must renew that could be implemented programs and plans for the development of water sources in the republic.
It can be summarized in the following points: -
1 - in the area of surface water: -
Should we, the sons of the Republic of Somaliland that are making great efforts to build dams on all the valleys of the country's major such as the harirad Valley (xarirad) and valley of abdol kaadir( c / qaadir ) and the valley of wajaale(toga wajaale) and valley of Hargeisa (toga hargeysa) and valley of Burao ( toga burco) and others, and I think that the construction of one dam on these valleys will not cost us more than five million dollars and will lead to the establishment of a large lake of fresh water behind the dam will feed the groundwater and will be a great source of water to fill the needs of citizens for agriculture and livestock watering.
We must not miss that there are many freshwater springs that run down from the mountain range located in the center of the country and we have to assess the barriers to water them and I think that the cost of these barriers will be low, ranging from ten thousand dollars and one hundred thousand dollars of the barrier the water one place on the spring one.

2 - in groundwater: -
